Dana Gas resumes operation at Khor Mor gas field following drone strike

Baghdad ( – The UAE-based Dana Gas announced on Wednesday that it had resumed its operations at the Khor Mor gas field in the Kurdistan region of Iraq.

The UAE company mentioned that operations resumed following key measures taken by both the federal government in Baghdad and the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), according to a statement issued by Dana Gas on the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange.

Dana Gas announced last Sunday that it had temporarily halted production at its Khor Mor facility in northern Iraq following a drone attack.

The company clarified that one of the liquid storage tanks in the Khor Mor facilities in Iraqi Kurdistan was attacked by a drone at 6:45 p.m. on Friday, April 26.

Dana Gas explained that four contractors lost their lives in the attack, while eight others suffered minor injuries, according to Sky News Arabia.

The company said that it was taking all measures to alleviate the suffering of those affected by this tragic event.

Dana Gas illustrated that, in addition to the temporary suspension of operations, it also introduced procedural changes to ensure the safety of its employees and operational facilities.

The gas firm coordinated with the authorities of the KRG to enhance security and defense measures to allow the resumption of production at its facility.
