Iraqi humanitarian aid arrives in Gaza

Baghdad ( – A new Iraqi food aid convoy arrived on Saturday for the Palestinians besieged in the Gaza Strip through Jordan.

The humanitarian aid, consisting of basic food supplies, was sent in a convoy of 91 trucks and will be distributed to the people in Gaza through humanitarian organizations.

Jordan, in partnership with the World Food Program (WFO), Qatar Red Crescent, and other humanitarian organizations, managed to bring the convoy, which includes donations from the Iraqi people and government, and the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada Al-Sadr, into the Gaza Strip.

The Secretary-General of the Jordanian Hashemite Charitable Organization, Hussein Al-Shibli, said that Jordan has become the crossing point for humanitarian aid going to the people in Gaza and the main lifeline for aid coming from different organizations and countries.

Last month, the Iraqi Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, said that the cabinet agreed on Sunday to send ten million liters of fuel to the Gaza Strip in support of the Palestinian people.

Al-Sudani added in a statement that Iraq has also committed to receiving injured Palestinians from Gaza and treating them in both public and private hospitals.
