Paraglider terror: Israeli communities on alert for aerial invasion

&#8220We have to change our outlook immediately and prepare for an aerial incursion,&#8221 says local community chief.

Immediately after terrorists infiltrated Israel from the Gaza Strip on Oct 7th by way of paragliders, community leaders are raising the alarm with regards to a repeat of that situation from Palestinian Authority-controlled parts in Judea and Samaria.

&#8220These days, it is completely obvious that there isn&#8217t just a danger of a land invasion by terrorists, but also 1 from the air,&#8221 said Sharon Turgeman, chairman of the Hinneni Forum, told Israel Hayom.

Turgeman claimed that terrorists now have unparalleled entry to &#8220affordable and easy&#8221 instruments like motorized paragliders and explosive UAVs and drones, which they can benefit from for assaults against civilian communities in central Israel.

The menace is in particular prescient for the Sharon location, which borders the Inexperienced Line and stability barrier.

In earlier incidents, terrorists from PA-administered spots have launched shooting assaults at communities in pre-1967 Israel that are adjacent to the seam line.

&#8220A terrorist can get off with a motorized paraglider from [the PA city] Qalqiliya and land in just minutes in Tzur Yigal or Kfar Saba,&#8221 Turgeman famous.

&#8220The identical point can happen with infiltration from Tulkarem to Bat Hefer and Netanya, or from Jenin to close by communities.&#8221

He warned against the sense of complacency which was a key contributor to the October 7th massacres.

&#8220We have to modify our outlook promptly and put together for an aerial incursion like this one, or the infiltration of a drone carrying explosives.&#8221

Past 7 days, local authorities in Kadima-Tzoran, a city in the Sharon area just a couple miles from the terror hotbed of Tulkarem, took the initiative to set up a radar program aimed at detecting aerial threats.

&#8220The security of our group and residents is earlier mentioned all else,&#8221 said Keren Eco-friendly, head of the city council.

&#8220I am not waiting for the condition and the police to bolster the protection they are intended to offer.&#8221
