Iraqi leaders offer condolences to Iraqi FM for his wife’s death

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Iraqi President, Abdul Latif Rashid, the Iraqi Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, and the President of the Kurdistan region of Iraq, Nechirvan Barzani, met on Monday with the Iraqi Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fuad Hussein, to offer condolences for the death of his wife.

The three Iraqi leaders asked God to give Hussein and his family patience and solace as they offered their deepest condolences and compassion for the loss of his spouse, according to a statement released by the Iraqi Foreign Ministry.

The Iraqi Foreign Minister expressed appreciation for the condolences offered by the Iraqi leaders, asking God to protect Iraq and its people and to keep everyone safe.

Hussein expressed his great gratitude for this honorable visit.

Foreign ministers of neighboring countries, including Iran and the UAE, also offered condolences to the Iraqi Foreign Minister for the loss of his wife.

Hussein’s wife, Carolina Montessori, passed away unexpectedly on April 7.

“Carolina was a remarkable individual whose warmth, kindness, and grace touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her,” the Washington Kurdish Institute mentioned in a statement, noting that her contributions to the Kurdish nation, especially in the education field, will be remembered fondly by all.
